Millet Patties Recipe


1/2 cup millet seeds
2 cups boiling water
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tsp oil or ghee
2 tsp soy sauce
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
a few cloves garlic, finely chopped

Cook the millet by adding it to the boiling water. cover the pot and cook until millet is soft (45 minutes to 1 hour) and all the water is absorbed. Saute onions, pepper, and garlic in oil. Add this to the cooked millet. Also add peanut butter, soy sauce and desired spices. Mix the concoction well. Divide it into 4 parts and form patties. Brown the patties in a lightly buttered pan.

Makes 4 patties.
